My name is David Dyer, I am an artist, skateboarder, music label co-founder, and eCommerce professional, making strides toward a career in UX Design & frontend web development. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I grew up falling in love with artistry. My mother was an impassioned painter, jeweler and sign maker, leaving our home with much in the way of inspiration. During the mid-nineties, our family moved to Central Florida where I got heavy into digital video production and DJ'ing. At some pivotal point in my DJ career, my friends and I started organizing events, booking talent, and eventually launched a record label we dubbed the Prestige Music Group. In '07, I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BA in Entrepreneurship. It was not long after graduation that I relocated myself to sunny Los Angeles CA.

As an avid skateboarder, I was entranced by the fashion streetwear movement taking place during this time period. In early '09, I gained an entry-level position with famed LA apparel brand, The Hundreds. Within one year, I was promoted to eCommerce Sales Manager, which put a team under me handling fulfillment, customer service, and inventory control. As the years went on, the collections and warehouse teams grew in size, as did the responsibilities merging into digital marketing, merchandising, logistics, 3PL, the list goes on. After years of building trust with executives, I was able to position myself into a vital part of our web development team. My input was largely considered with respect to building out functionality for multiple website redesigns and platform migrations. Working alongside off-site web development agencies, I became the liaison between all stakeholders involved. I believe this experience planted the seed that has grown into aspirations for a career in UX Design.

In 2018 I ventured up to the Bay Area, landing in Oakland. There, I joined up with community apparel brand Oaklandish as Operations Specialist, working to establish and manage multiple sub-label web shops, integrated sales channels, and help facilitate the start of their partnership with the Oakland Roots Soccer Club. Feeling a bit stuck in my role at this point, I decide to further my education by earning certification as a UX Designer from UCBerkeley. Enter COVID. I have relocated once again, now residing outside of Atlanta GA, taking this time to up-skill, keep safe, and launch the next phase of my career.

After a stint of freelance design for 530 Media Lab, who tapped me to craft a mobile app on behalf of their client Vinyl Visions... I took part in the summer '21 term with the UCB Global Internship Program as UX/UI Design Intern at Pepper Square. And as of Feb '22, I've completed the Full Stack Flex coding bootcamp at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Now with skills ranging from design to development, I am putting all the pieces together. So reach out, get in touch, and let's build something cool!
